Closing Till and Zed Report

Closing Till and Zed Report

Closing out the till and performing a Zed Report all relies on having good info from the start of day.
At the start of the day is when you set the float in the till, and at the end of the day is when you do end of day tasks, and close out the till with a Zed Report.

Closing Till

At the end of the day is when you do a final tidy up of the till.
Closing out the till does not actually involve the physical till. Instead, it is to to clean up any transactions so that no further changes need to occur to the till.

Closing out the Till

  1. Bill any tables with items still present
  2. Close any tabs still open
  3. Clear any remaining parked sales
It is still possible to go ahead with a Zed Report without having closed out the till, but as for example with tabs, you will be reminded that you still have open tabs that should be investigated.

Zed Report

The Zed report gives you a summary of the days activities, and also shows how much money there should be in the cash drawer. That way, you have a reliable way to keep track of whether any variations might be occurring.

Performing a Zed Report at the end of the day is a three-step process:
  1. Enter Cash Drawer
  2. Press Close Till Zed Report
  3. Press Close Till and Print Zed

1. Enter Cash Drawer

On the front screen of POSbiz there are six main buttons, the second button being Cash Drawer. Press that Cash Drawer button to get to the Cash Drawer screen.

2. Press Close Till Zed Report

On the Cash Drawer screen are several options to work with the float, and do things with Eftpos. Press the Close Till Zed Report button.

If there are any bar tabs remaining open you will be warned about those, so that you can go and chase up people to pay them off before the till is closed.
You will be shown the Summary Report of the float in the till and of sales made.

3. Press Close Till and Print Zed

The Zed Report has not yet occurred. That will occur full and proper when you press the Close Till and Print Zed button.

On pressing that button, emails are then sent out with a copy of that summary report to anyone that needs them, and a printout of that Summary Report made to the receipt printer.
