Total sales versus Total takings on the Insights app

On the Insights app, there are two significant dollar values shown, one for total sales and the other for total takings.

Totals Sales

All sales that have been put through the POS, including sales not yet paid for.
The same figure is found in the Sales Summary report, from Office > Reports > Financial > Summary > Sales Excl

Patron Count

The number of patrons. If patrons are not being tracked, one patron = one sale instead.

Average Spend

Based on per patron. This amount includes GST, as we record patrons only when payment is made.

Total Takings

This is what will be banked for the period and includes GST. It excludes sales not yet paid for, e.g tables and tabs.
The same figure is found in the Cashup report, from Office > Reports > Financial > Cashup > Payments total

Difference between Total Sales and Total Takings

Between Total Sales and Total Takings, there is usually only a factor of GST difference between them.
As both sets of info come from quite different sources though, it's important that both are represented on the app.
